Meet our Founder - Stacey Isaac Berahzer
More and more communities have a growing interest in—and willingness to pay for—water resource management projects. Concerns ranging from flooding to higher water bills to emerging contaminants in drinking water are causing more communities to focus on water.
Many are looking to improve watershed management, address equity issues for limited-income water utility customers, or encourage climate change mitigation by making green practices and jobs more economically viable.
Stacey Isaac Berahzer, founder of IB Environmental, has spent 20 years in the environmental field, most of it immersed in water resource management as a senior project director with the Environmental Finance Center at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
As a passionate proponent of clean, affordable water who is deeply connected to work in the water industry, she’s uniquely qualified to help funders, nonprofits, utility companies, and others overcome the constant challenges related to funding and managing these projects.
Stacey has worked on water policy at the national level with groups such as the American Water Works Association, on watershed management with the Chattooga Conservancy, and with a group of Georgia-based funding agencies who specialize in water management projects, among many others.
Stacey’s passion for environmental work led her to earn a degree in Environmental Science from North Carolina Central University and a Master of Public Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is past chair of the board of directors for the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership and teaches in the Georgia Association of Water Professionals Leadership Academy.
Her areas of expertise include:

Background in Caribbean water issues
Speaks Spanish
As a consultant, she is passionate about helping the people who work to make water clean, safe, and affordable by connecting them with the funding and support they need.
