As part of its outreach and training efforts, the Georgia Funders’ Forum will be hosting a four-part webinar series. You can register for one, or all four of these events.

The primary intended audience for these webinars is local government staff related to water, wastewater and stormwater projects in Georgia.

This webinar series is funded by the Georgia Environment Finance Authority.

 

Webinar 1: Stormwater Utility Fees in Georgia

When: Monday, September 16, 2024 (2-3 PM EDT)

During this webinar, participants will get an overview of the number, and structure, of stormwater utilities in Georgia. We will look at the advantages of having a stormwater utility as a dedicated source of funding for non-point source projects. We will also explore opportunities to participate in future stormwater financing research.

 

Webinar 2: Asset Management –Case Studies from within Georgia

When: Monday, September 30, 2024 (2-3 PM EDT)

This webinar will cover how having an asset management plan can boost your utility’s chances of securing funding. We will look at two case studies, one from a large water system, and the other from a smaller Georgia community. We will explore how to get started on asset management, and consider some of the software options.

 

Webinar 3: The Lead Service Line Inventory Deadline has Passed, Now What?

When: Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 (2-3 PM EDT)

With the deadline for the service line inventory being a week prior to this webinar, we'll be helping answer the question of “now what?” We will provide some statistics on the status of compliance with the inventory requirement statewide. The webinar will also cover next steps, including posting the inventory online (where required), and funding options and limitations for addressing lead service lines in your system.

 

Webinar 4: Cybersecurity -How your Utility can be Proactive

When: Thursday, October 24th, 2023 (2-3 PM EDT)

In this webinar, we will look at some of the resources that are available to water, wastewater and stormwater utilities to address cybersecurity. We will also provide recommendations on the first steps to take if a utility has suffered a cybersecurity incident.
